Developing the Young Workforce (DYW)
Virtual Work Experience Programme for S4-S6 Pupils - free for Fife schools
EDT are delighted to offer S4-S6 pupils free access to our Virtual Work Experience (WEX) course, based on the themes of engineering, built environment, construction and STEM careers. Partnered with Scotland’s leading engineering companies to create an accredited, interactive, virtual WEX. Working independently through the engaging activities at home, students will be awarded an Industrial Cadets Silver award on completion of this curriculum enhancing course. It’s a fantastic way for pupils to start the new term on a positive note and with an accreditation under their belts.
The activities are timetabled over the course of 4 days, totalling 30 hours. This commences Monday 10th October with a live launch followed by a mix of independent study, live webinars, Q&As, and fun activities, covering civil and electrical engineering, sustainable infrastructure, STEM careers & pathways, and developing employability skills. Pupils then have a further ten days available to complete all the activities at their own pace, totalling 30 hours study. All activities can be accessed through our easy-to-use online learning management system, TalentLMS.
